Similarly to the rest of the Perkins 400 series range, the Perkins 404A-22G is a compact yet powerful and quiet diesel engine. The 404A-22G engine is a 2.2 L naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engine.
The Perkins 404A-22G diesel engine is currently manufactured in the UK in Peterborough. The engine has a Perkins build list number which begins GV.
The 403A-15G2 engine provides economic and durable operation at prime and standby duties making it a versatile compact engine. The engine is available in only the 50Hz configuration however it still delivers impressive performance with low operating costs.

What can I do to maximize the life of my engine?
To keep your engine operating at peak performance, be sure to perform proper maintenance for each of the following areas, as outlined in your owner's manual:
· Air filter
· Oil (and filter)
· Cooling system (including the flywheel fan, cooling fins, and any radiators or oil coolers)
What fuel is recommended for my engine?
Diesel
Use the same type of diesel fuel as used in cars (EN 590 for E.U. - ASTM D975 regulation - S 15 for U.S). Use of other types of fuel could damage the engine. Do not use dirty diesel fuel or mixtures of fuel and water since this will cause serious engine faults. When operating the engine in ambient temperatures lower than 0 degrees Celsius, use suitable low temperature fuel normally available from fuel distributors.
